Description
OVERVIEW
The Olivon T800-ED Spotting Scope is designed to deliver high-resolution, colour-accurate imaging across a wide zoom range. It features an 80 mm extra-low dispersion (ED) objective lens that reduces chromatic aberration and enhances edge-to-edge sharpness. This improves visibility of fine details across varied lighting and distance conditions.
The angled eyepiece supports extended viewing comfort and is compatible with standard 1.25-inch astro eyepieces, offering flexibility across fixed, wide-angle, and flat-field optics. A 20–60x zoom eyepiece is included as standard, providing high magnification with consistent performance throughout its range.
The body is nitrogen-purged and sealed to prevent internal fogging. This allows for uninterrupted use in changing temperatures and humid conditions. Fully multi-coated optics and BAK4 prisms improve light transmission, maintaining image brightness and contrast even at higher magnifications.
The T800-ED is compatible with standard tripods and integrates directly with Olivon tripods for enhanced stability.
An updated version of the T80ED, the T800-ED incorporates improvements to the internal optic system and a revised eyepiece fitting for greater modular compatibility.

FEATURES
- ED glass significantly reduces chromatic aberration and colour fringing. This results in improved resolution and colour fidelity across the visual field, particularly at the periphery of high-contrast objects.
- The 80 mm fully multi-coated objective lens enhances light transmission and contrast, improving clarity in low-light conditions. This makes it suitable for early morning or dusk observation where brightness retention is critical.
- A 20–60x zoom eyepiece is included, engineered to maintain optical quality throughout the magnification range. Fine focus adjustments remain smooth and accurate even at maximum zoom levels.
- BAK4 prism assemblies are incorporated to optimise image brightness and minimise edge distortion. These prisms offer high light efficiency and are designed for consistent optical output across multiple viewing conditions.
- The nitrogen-filled internal chamber eliminates the risk of internal fogging caused by temperature or humidity fluctuations. The body is sealed against moisture ingress and resistant to environmental exposure.
- The 1.25-inch eyepiece mount supports interchangeable optics, allowing for fixed magnification or alternative wide-angle configurations where required.
- The spotting scope attaches securely to all standard camera tripods and is designed to interface directly with Olivon tripods for increased mounting precision and field stability.
- Protective accessories include a stay-on case and lens caps to minimise handling risk and maintain optical cleanliness during transport and storage.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The T800-ED is manufactured to provide consistent optical clarity under varied field conditions. Its improved light-gathering capacity supports use in low-light settings, while the angled eyepiece reduces neck strain during prolonged observation.
The revised optical system offers a wider range of visual compatibility through the use of a universal eyepiece mount, increasing long-term flexibility. Mechanical build quality supports stable focus and repeatable magnification performance.
Optical coatings and prism design prioritise image fidelity without reliance on digital enhancement, making the T800-ED suitable for use where natural image rendering is required.
The modular format and sealed construction make this model a durable and flexible component for general observational tasks requiring high optical resolution.
