Description

The Pixfra Arc LRF range is perfect for:

  • Bat surveys with potential roost features clustered in a smaller area
  • Bat surveys of trees
  • Bat surveys of distant structures, or where access does not allow close inspection, such as railway tunnels and bridges
  • Nocturnal bird and mammal surveys
  • Surveys where knowing the distance from the target feature is required
  • Hunting
  • Search & rescue

Manufacturer warranty information

The Pixfra Arc LRF Thermal Monocular is a high-performance thermal imaging device designed for professionals working in low-visibility and low-light conditions. Incorporating an integrated laser rangefinder (LRF), it enables precise distance measurements of up to 1,000 m, supporting data collection in situations where conventional optics are ineffective.

The unit offers consistent visual performance regardless of light conditions or environmental obscurants such as fog, smoke, or foliage. Thermal imaging allows for reliable detection where visual camouflage or darkness would typically impair observation.

Equipped with a vanadium oxide uncooled focal plane detector, the Arc LRF delivers thermal sensitivity of ≤20 mK, providing high-definition imagery with excellent thermal contrast. Six model variants are available, with resolution options of 384 × 288 or 640 × 512, allowing users to select the optimal configuration for their specific field requirements.

This monocular is suited to a wide range of professional applications where clarity, distance measurement, and durability are essential under challenging environmental conditions.

All models in this range meet the requirements set out in best practice guidance for bat surveys. Please see the Thermal Imaging: Bat Survey Guidelines published by the Bat Conservation Trust for more advice on how to choose your thermal imaging equipment for bat surveys.

Features

  • The integrated laser rangefinder (LRF) provides accurate distance readings up to 1,000 m for enhanced observational precision

  • The advanced thermal detector uses a vanadium oxide uncooled focal plane to produce high-resolution thermal imagery in conditions unsuitable for conventional optics

  • The Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference (NETD) of ≤20 mK allows the device to register fine thermal variations in complex terrain or partially obscured settings

  • Includes six viewing modes, including multiple colour palettes, to support visual clarity across a range of environmental conditions

  • Digital magnification from 1× to 8× aids in detailed inspection without excessive image degradation

  • Internal storage and a microphone facilitate documentation and review of field activity

  • Picture-in-picture (PIP) mode maintains broader situational awareness while enabling localised image enlargement

  • Supports real-time sharing and remote access through mobile applications via Wi-Fi

  • IP67 rating ensures resistance to dust, water, and immersion in field conditions

  • Weighs under 430 g and uses a replaceable 18650 battery to offer extended runtime and portability

Additional information

All Pixfra Arc LRF models feature manual focus, a close focus distance of 2 m, and support both auto and manual uniformity correction. These controls enable detailed observations at both short and extended ranges.

The OLED display provides clear output under all light conditions, while the 50 Hz refresh rate ensures smooth motion capture for dynamic tracking.

The Arc LRF's suitability extends to uses such as perimeter inspection and search operations, where portable, high-resolution thermal optics are required.

Incorporating an onboard laser rangefinder enhances the accuracy of location data capture, supporting integration with geospatial workflows and field documentation.
